We want to make sure you get all the great music you are need from Dada.net so here's a helpful recap of our our benefits and how you can download your MP3s. Remember, our customer service is always ready to help you!

I signed up for your 3 Free offer. How do I get started? What are Credits?
Did you sign up for our 3 Free offer? Start downloading now!

Our 3 Free offer awards you 3 credits - you can download any 3 MP3s for free.

Credits are your pass to download great music from Dada.net.

Please keep in mind your credits can only be used toward MP3s (1 credit is equal to 1 MP3 download).

Dada.net has all the music I love - I want more than 3 downloads! How do I upgrade my 3 Free membership to a Premium Membership?
You can upgrade to a premium plan using your credit card and get a 7 day free trial!

For just $9.99/month, your subscription package will include 15 credits (that works out to just $ .67 per song!) plus a one-time bonus of 25 credits. You'll have access to nearly 2 million DRM-free MP3s - download your music and move to your iPod or any MP3 player, your mobile phone or burn to a CD. You can even listen to new music before you buy! Discover new music at Dada.net, create playlists and share your music with your friends in our Community!

If you cancel within the first 7 days, all the music you already downloaded is your to keep forever.

You can read our complete Subscription Agreement here for all the details.

Which payment methods are accepted by Dada.net for a Premium membership?
Dada.net accepts Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover.

    What operating systems are compatible?
Both Windows and Macintosh operating systems work with Dada.net. To successfully download MP3 files from our service, you must be using a web browser which allows downloads and has cookies enabled. In order to listen to your MP3s, you must have an MP3/music player available on your PC as well as a PC which recognizes the MP3 files.

Why do I see a pre-authorization on my credit/debit card?
If you signed up for our subscription, you get 7 days to try Dada for free. During that time, you may see a pre-authorization placed on your debit or credit card. Please note, your account has not been charged. You will not be charged until you have passed the 7 day trial period. If you choose to cancel the service before the end of the trial period, your card will not be charged and the pre-authorization will drop from your card. For complete details on the terms of the trial offer, please review the terms.

Why do you need my credit card for the free trial?
A credit card is required upon registration for the free trial period for two reasons. The first reason is that we must verify that, once the free trial ends, you have a valid credit card to proceed with a subscription. To do this, verification is sent to your credit card. If your credit card company accepts the verification, the verification amount will remain in your cache as a "to be withdrawn" item. The purpose of performing verification is to determine if you have a valid credit card to initiate a subscription at the end of the trial, should you not cancel the subscription within the alloted 7 day period. If you choose to cancel the service before the end of the free trial period, the verification will drop off, meaning the verification amount is never withdrawn. This may take 3 to 5 business days depending on your credit card provider. However, if you do not cancel and wish to initiate the service, the verification amount will be withdrawn from your account to initiate the subscription.

The second reason is that entering your credit card allows for an enjoyable user experience by offering a seamless transition on behalf of the customer from the end of trial period to the full subscription. However, should you decide not to initiate a full subscription, we offer the option to cancel the service during the 7 day trial period, in which the credit card will not be charged for the subscription.

How do I save my MP3 downloads?
If you are a new member (3 Free or Premium subscriber), first you have to complete the registration process at Dada.net. If you already have an account, make sure you are logged in first and have credits available for your MP3 download.

Once you find an MP3 that you want to download, click "Get MP3." Your MP3s will start downloading to your PC. A pop-up window will appear, asking if you want to save or open the file. Choose "Save" and select a place in your computer to save the MP3. You can choose a default player to open your files. Select your favorite player and click "OK."

After your download is complete, the player you specified should open. If your player does not open, you can open your preferred MP3 player and open your downloaded tracks and begin enjoying your music.

If you can't find your file, make sure to check your temporary folders. Make sure you save your files in a safe place on your computer. Some browsers save your downloads in a temporary file. You can change the options/preferences of your browser to specify where you want to save your MP3s.

If you need step-by-step instructions for downloading your MP3s, watch our video showing you how.

How do I burn a CD of my MP3 downloads?
In order to burn a CD of the MP3s you have purchased, you must have a computer which has a CD drive and software which will allow you to burn CDs. Most MP3 players on your computer will have an option to burn a CD, so check the application's Help file for step-by-step instructions. You can also consult your computer's manual for troubleshooting tips.

    ALL ABOUT CREDITS!

Once you cancel your account, you lose the rest of the remaining credits. The MP3s you downloaded are yours to keep forever, regardless of your account status.

I used all my credits within the 7-day trial period - what happens now?
Once you have used all of your credits, you will need to wait until your trial period has ended. Once your credit card is charged, you will be granted 15 credits for the month. These credits will continue to refresh every 30 days from your sign-up date, and you will continue to be charged $9.99/month until you cancel your subscription.

I've used all of my credits and I want more. How can I add more credits to my account?
Currently, upgrades are not available, but we do hope to add them very soon.

If I don't use all of my credits this month, can I use them next month?
The 25 credits you received upon sign up to the offer roll over until they are all used. Monthly credits do not roll over however. Use them or lose them!

One of my downloads failed - can you help me?

    Susan Boyle's Dream

    by Dada VJ (04/21/2009 - 18:50)

Whose YouTube video has gotten more hits than President Obama's inaugural address? Frumpy, 47-year-old unemployed charity worker Susan Boyle's attempt at stardom in England.

As everyone knows by now, Susan Boyle was an unlikely contestant on the U.K. TV show Britain's Got Talent (similar to American Idol and also featuring Simon Cowell). Though the judges rolled their eyes at her when she took the stage, they were astonished at her amazing voice when she sang "I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Miserables.

20 million YouTube hits later and she's a global star and a favorite to win the prize. Boyle has also re-popularized the Les Miz soundtrack - the original cast recording of "I Dreamed A Dream" entered the U.K. singles chart this week and is available right here on Dada.net!

    Remembering Kurt Cobain

    by Dada VJ (04/08/2009 - 19:21)

Hard to believe it's been 15 years since Kurt Cobain was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Millions of fans around the world grieved the Nirvana frontman - the father of grunge music and Generation X's spokesman (all labels he hated) - when his body was discovered in Seattle on April 8, 1994.

When Nirvana burst onto the scene in the late 1980s/early 1990s, a shift in music was instantly born. The cheesy pop and hip-hop groups (think Milli Vanilli) and heavy metal hair bands had long ruled what was becoming a tired and uninspired music scene. Nirvana (Cobain along with Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl) was something we had never heard before. They were the first band out of Seattle's growing grunge rock scene to make a big impact on the national scene.

After their debut album, 1989's Bleach, became an underground hit, Nirvana signed with a major record company. 1991's Nevermind went on to sell more than 10 million copies with the single "Smells Like Teen Spirit" becoming an anthem for Generation X. Nirvana was suddenly the biggest band in the world and Cobain was the king. However, he was never comfortable with commercial success and global fame and, also suffering from a heroin addiction that he repeatedly tried to kick without success, decided to end his life by committing suicide on April 5, 1994. His body was found in Seattle three days later.

A true musical genius. Very rare. RIP Kurt.

    Pay to Play

    by Dada VJ (03/25/2009 - 15:11)

The debate of subscription vs. ad-supported model has been going on since the dawn of online music services (you know, way back in the early/mid 2000s). Some services have you pay a monthly fee to get your music downloads while others don't have you pay anything but instead have ads all over the site that can interrupt your user experience.

Now comes news that Last.fm, formerly only an ad-supported model, is going to launch a subscription fee for users outside of the US, UK and Germany. For about $5 a month, users can sign up to Last.fm's radio service (Last.fm did formerly offer a monthly fee in exchange for no advertising).

More and more services seem to be moving away from ads. The change comes hot on the heels of last week's shuttering of Spiralfrog, an ad-supported model. Dada.net has always been a monthly subscription fee as you know, as have many other music services. It will be interesting to look at the Last.fm test and watch which type of service is more popular with users.

    Which do you prefer?

Social Networking More Popular Than E-mail

    by Dada VJ (03/10/2009 - 16:15)

I read in Billboard.Biz today that social networking has overtaken e-mail as the most popular activity on the internet. 67% of internet users use social networking while just 65% use e-mail.

It makes sense. I can e-mail on Facebook and MySpace as well as do everything else those sites offer. I still have a separate e-mail account though and I expect most people do. Which do you check  more often - your e-mail account or your social networking page?

Album Sales Down - But Is It Good News?

    by Dada VJ (03/05/2009 - 15:33)

Digital Music News is reporting today that album sales, which have been dismal for years, are continuing their downward slide in 2009. As of the end of February, Soundscan figures show that albums are selling at 11.7% below comparable levels in 2008. Compare that with a 14% decline for all of 2008 - and a 54.6% drop since album sales peaked in 2000.

But there is a silver lining - or at least DMN has found one. They interviewed several music retail analysts earlier this year who predicted a larger drop in album sales than what has actually happened. So, according to earlier predictions, album sales could be  - and should've been - in a lot worse shape.

Luckily, digital sales continue to rise both here at Dada.net and across the other music sites. People are still buying music, it's just the format they want it in has changed.

    Jumping on the DRM-Free Bandwagon

    by Dada VJ (03/03/2009 - 18:06)

Nokia reportedly wants to remove DRM from its popular Comes With Music, which means that when a user downloads a song to the phone, the song can then be moved to any other device. Right now, once a song is downloaded to the Nokia phone, it stays on the phone. If a user wants the same song on his MP3 player, he has to download it (and pay for it) separately. There's an interesting item on today's Hits blog.

That's basically what's behind DRM, an industry term meaning Digital Rights Management. The idea behind DRM is that once you download a song to your computer or cell phone or MP3 or iPod, it can't be moved to another device. For several years, DRM was an industry standard. However, there's been a lot of change lately as the music industry tries to adapt to digital trends and savvy customers. As a result, many services, most recently iTunes, have removed DRM from their music. We here at Dada.net have always been DRM-free - once you download one of our tracks, you are free to move it to your MP3 player, iPod, computer or cell phone. It looks like the music revolution is spreading...

    Ticket Mergers

    by Dada VJ (03/02/2009 - 20:52)

The music industry is buzzing with the news that the two biggest ticket agencies - Ticketmaster and Live Nation -  are looking to merge. But the story is about more than the country's two biggest ticket giants headed towards marital bliss. Ticketmaster also owns a successful artist management company and Live Nation is now the record company of superstars like U2 and Madonna. So, a marriage between Ticketmaster and Live Nation could mean that the new combined company could actually manage your favorite band, release its new album and sell tickets to its tour. It's a controversial idea since U.S. business is built on the idea of competition. One-stop shopping might be very intriguing for the artist  but if there's no competition, prices won't stay competitive for the consumer. Billboard has a good run-down of all the pros and cons here. Stay tuned.. this one is far from over.

    Downloads = Big Money

    by Dada VJ (02/24/2009 - 17:38)

One of my favorite news and blog sites is Digital Music News. All kinds of good stuff on there, including an item today on Juniper Research forecasting strong gains for full-track downloads, ringback tones and streaming services. Ringtone sales are down but that will likely turn around. All together, Juniper says that global mobile revenues will reach $14.3 billion by 2013.

Internet, Mobile Viewing On the Rise

    by Dada VJ (02/23/2009 - 18:17)

More and more people are watching videos - and they are choosing to watch it on their mobile phones in addition to on television and the internet.

Neilsen Co. released a report today on the nation's viewing habits and it shows that how we watch television is changing with the times.

Although traditional TV is still the most popular (285 million users), the number of viewers watching video on mobile devices and video (such as DVRs) each grew about 9%. But the number of people watching TV is slowing down while the rate at which people are watching on the internet and on mobile screens is growing quickly.

Is this the end of television as we know it? Where do you get your TV fix?

Flo Rida Sets Download Record - Again

    by Dada VJ (02/19/2009 - 16:23)
